Certificate, approval and credential are different things

A school’s certificate and a board credential such as the NBC-HWC are separate: completing training alone does not award the credential. Approval attaches to an exact program path, not to a school or to everything it sells. [S01, S02]

What the approval labels mean

Each card below names the exact path and labels the approval evidence in words:

  • Approval documented: the exact path is recorded in a current official reference.
  • Provider reports approval; directory check pending: the school says so; we have not yet confirmed the exact directory entry.
  • Additional training required: this path alone is not the full training route to the board credential.
  • Approval not verified: we have no current evidence either way.

Narrow the list in this order, so a lower price never outranks a path that cannot serve your goal.

  1. Start with the credential you want

    Decide whether you want a school-issued certificate or a path toward a separate board credential, then compare only paths that serve that outcome.

  2. Compare the full required cost

    Tuition is one line item. Add required modules, materials and fees, keep optional purchases separate, and treat a known minimum as a minimum.

  3. Check the schedule you must keep

    Online does not always mean self-paced. Look for required live meetings, practice, assessments and completion deadlines.

  4. Confirm entry rules

    School admission and later credential eligibility are separate questions. Check both before paying.

  5. Ask admissions in writing

    Request an itemized quote, the cohort calendar, attendance rules, access period and withdrawal terms for the exact path.
