How the shortlist works
The tool applies the same published rules to every program. Commission and partner status are never inputs.
- Gates first. If you want a national board credential, only exact paths with current documented approval qualify; approval is never inferred from a school’s brand. If you cannot attend live classes, paths that require them are excluded. A confirmed unmet entry requirement excludes a path; an unknown one adds a warning to confirm before enrolling.
- Then a fit score out of 100: goal and credential path 35, budget 25, live format 20, weekly study time 10, entry requirements 10.
- Up to three results that score at least 60. If fewer than two credible matches remain, we say so and point you to the wider catalog rather than padding the list.
Score describes fit to stated preferences, not training quality. Results with unresolved cost, schedule or admission details are labeled “Potential fit - confirm details”. Board-credential eligibility is decided by the board: read the official NBHWC eligibility guidance. [S01]
